When I tried to sign up, it told me the member name I had specified has been locked and cannot be registered. Why?
There are three primary methods that an account is deleted:
By an Administrator (usually for abuse)
By the Account Owner (a self-deletion)
By the System (an automatic deletion for inactivity)
When a member name is deleted it is locked and can never be registered again.
The primary reason for this is the Forum and how it is tied into Vampire Rave's Status System. If a member account is deleted, their Forum posts remain (as a matter of data integrity). Another member could come along later, re-register the old name, and instantly gain credit for the previous member's Forum posts.
To prevent this, after deletion the member name is locked and can never be registered again. This applies even to the original account holder. Do not ask for a lock to be removed. You'll be ignored if you ask.
